POSITION SUMMARY

Carpenter’s primary responsibilities are to follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients. Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding. Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials. Constantly with wood, drywall, fiberglass, or other materials

This position will also be responsible for handling confidential information, while researching and responding to all internal communications in a timely manner.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.

  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding.

  • Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials.

  • Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and door frames.

  • Level, and install building framework with the aid of large pulleys and cranes.

  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.

  • Prepare sites to ensure maximum optimization of construction work procedures.

  • Clean debris, trash and hazardous materials from construction sites. Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained.

  • Prepare area to pour concrete as instructed.

  • Assist in installing sewerage pipes and drains.

  • Assist heavy equipment operators.

  • Align structural components according to blue prints.

  • Perform maintenance tasks to progress the overall project.

  • Drive, load and unload trucks carrying materials and equipment to sites.

  • Ensure that all work is being done in compliance with the company’s protocols.

  • Use hand tools to cut and shape material as per instructions.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of carpentry experience.

  • Must have basic tools.

  • Ability to adhere to established safety procedures while using all tools and equipment.

  • Attention to Detail – Make sure all jobs are to specifications.

  • Able to lift heavy lumber, cement and other objects.

  • Able to use basic math as well as problem solve. Able to adjust plans to compensate for any environmental issues that come up.

  • Carpenters spend long days on their feet, often outside in all types of weather

Able to complete pre-employment requirements – Drug Test, Criminal Background test.



EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, VEHICLES USE

Various construction & carpentry equipment. Will use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical hazards. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, electric saws, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Must have reliable and transportation and current driver’s license.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

Indoor and outdoor environments – exposure to hot and cold temperatures and different weather conditions. Possibility of working in dangerous conditions, construction sites, and at high heights.



WORK SCHEDULE

Work schedule varies depending on project. Early mornings and weekends may be required.



COMPENSATION

Depends on experience.
