POSITION SUMMARY
The Journeyman Electrician will work independently while inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repairs and to ensure compliance with codes. They will work mainly on residential and commercial projects.

Maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, services, and equipment
Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems in district facilities
Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment
Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
Repair or recommend replacement of electrical appliances, including commercial ovens, ranges, steam tables, washers, dryers, etc.
Receive and complete work orders.
Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects
Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have valid Hawaii state Journeyman's license
Must have valid driver’s license
Must have tools and transportation
Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test
Ability to work in a high stress environment
Must have experience with repair, installs, replacement, and testing of electrical circuits and equipment. With an extensive understanding of electrical networking and lighting knowledge.
Able to read electrical drawings

Read and understand electrical wiring and ladder diagrams.
Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, prints, and charts
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma
Must have valid Hawaii state Journeyman's license

WORK SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday from 7a.m-3:30p.m
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Will be working on residential and commercial sites – indoor and outdoor. Varying temperature settings and environments. Exposure to moderate to loud levels of noise. Will be exposed to potentially dangerous or hazardous conditions and electrical currents.
